It is now close to a week since Tusker Project Fame, East And Central Africa’s most watched show went live for the 6th season on our television sets. During the premiere, on Sunday 13 October, a few of the contestants got the chance to take the stage to show us what they got for us.
Today Saturday October 19 2013, the second performance was held and it was dubbed “The Battle Of The Sexes” where we saw a musical face off between the Lady Participants and The Male Participants.
Prior to the performances, Principle Wainaina pointed out that this was aimed at getting to know the Contestants. Indeed it was all about the participants, there was no band involved and the music was all engineered by Hope and Kojjo who out did their selves on the guitars. Among the surprises of the night was the absence of the only female on the Judge Panel Juliana, who is Uganda for some performances and was replaced by Guest Judge Jean Paul from Rwanda.
The battle rolled on for two rounds and each group was awarded marks by the judges and the faculty at the end of every performance. For the first round, the ladies did their own version of Kelekele Love by Tiwa Savage while the Gents covered Cool and the Gang’s Get Down.
At the end of the two rounds, both the Judging Panel and The Faculty Unanimously agreed that the Boys out did the ladies and they were crowned the champions of the night.
Remember, today’s show was just a teaser, tune in tomorrow to the respective television stations of your country for the real thing. Catch you tomorrow
